Military Appreciation Day

Every year on the Sunday before or on Veteran’s Day, St. Giles honors our Military Service Members and Visitors. We extend a very special invitation to the Military Community to visit with us on their day to be “pinned” with a Veteran’s Pin and recognized for their service. Our service highlights all branches of the service with each of the songs from the different branches. The First Coast Highlander Band joins us for a special array of music featuring their bagpipes and drums throughout the service. After our 10:00 service, we gather together for food and fellowship in our Fellowship Hall which is decorated with posters and information about every war since WWI. Church members bring pictures and memorabilia commemorating their service, stories and sacrifices of loved ones. A photographer is available to take pictures of service members in front of their service flag; or of course, any of our visitors or members are welcome to be photographed in front of the American Flag, or the flag of their choice.
