ABOUT ST. GILES
St. Giles is a member of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. Founded in 1977, many of our Charter Members are still very active in the life of our congregation. We cherish and celebrate our Scottish roots annually, along with the Clay County St. Andrew’s Society, at our Kirkin’ of the Tartan Worship Service. (Those of us who are not Scottish bring our tartans too!) We are passionate about serving the local and global community and demonstrating God’s love to others. If you are looking for a reconnection to our community, spiritual revitalization, a social support system, or religious reconnection, you have come to the right place. We are passionate about serving our community and each other. Best of all, EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE. Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM.

OUR STAFF

Son of missionaries to Africa, Rev. Jake Young completed high school in Jos, Nigeria. He earned his Master’s Degree at Washington University in St. Louis before graduating from McCormick Seminary in 2001. Jake served churches in Illinois and the Carolinas before receiving a Call to St. Giles. He is an active participant in the life of the Presbytery and in the local community.
Jake is an avid boater, fisherman and has multiple US Sailing certifications and carries a USCG Captain’s License. He is also a dedicated Yoga practitioner (and offers Yoga classes at St. Giles weekly!)
In bringing the Word of God to our parishioners, Jake’s delivery is passionate and relevant. Using a bit of humor and personal experience, Jake’s sermons are authentic and timely. Sunday mornings with Jake are casual and relatable while his messages are motivating and invigorating.
