Addendum to Newsletter -

Son of missionaries to Africa, Jake completed high school in Jos, Nigeria. He earned his
Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis before
graduating from McCormick Seminary in 2001. Jake served churches in Illinois and the
Carolinas before receiving a Call to St. Giles.  He is an active participant in the life of the
Presbytery and in the local community.  He is an avid boater, fisherman and has multiple US
Sailing certifications and carries a USCG Captain’s License. Jake is the proud father of Joe
(Senior in Aeronautical Engineering at Embry-Riddle) and Ben (Junior in Biochemistry at
Clemson University). In addition to the Bible, Jake likes to read John Philip Newell, Richard
Rohr and Henri Nouwen. He is also a dedicated Yoga practitioner.

Pastor Jake will be visiting St. Giles the first Sunday in July and taking over in the pulpit on
Sunday, July 8th.  Please join us in welcoming Pastor Jake!
